PURPOSE: A composition for enhancing cellular immunity derived from natural products is provided to activate dendritic cells, macrophage, and splenocytes without cytotoxicity and side effects. CONSTITUTION: A composition for enhancing cellular immunity contains glucan as an active ingredient, isolated from Umbilicaria esculenta. The cells are dendritic cells, macrophage, or splenocytes. A method for extracting the glucan comprises: a step of pulverizing and degreasing Umbilicaria esculenta; a step of centrifuging and extracting residual materials; a step of concentrating the extract at reduced pressure, adding ethanol, and precipitating; a step of centrifuging and washing; and a step of suspending the precipitate and freeze-drying.
