The arrangement has a pivot joint on a stationary furniture part, with a damping unit to slow the movement of the furniture component near one of its end positions. The damping unit has a cylinder and a piston unit forming a part of a hinge. A hinge lever (27) engages a piston-operating unit when the movable component approaches one of its end positions, to slow down the movable component.
