<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent surface temperature rise of an over-charged lithium ion secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: A lithium ion secondary battery having a high heat stability is composed of: a cathode which occludes and discharges lithium; an anode which occludes and discharges lithium; and an nonaqueous electrolyte, and a difference ΔT between a temperature T<SB>1</SB>where an exothermic rate of the cathode in a state of charging becomes the maximal, and a temperature T<SB>2</SB>where an exothermic rate of the anode in a state of charging becomes maximal shall be 50°C or higher. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
