PURPOSE: An object recognition method and a system thereof are provided to design an algorithm for recognizing an object on a screen and distance information by using a stereo vision system. CONSTITUTION: An object recognition system receives information about an object(S210). A plurality of cameras takes a photograph of the object(S220). The object recognition system extracts feature points by SIFT(Scale Invariant Feature Transform) of the photographed images(S230). The object recognition system calculates average of distance between feature points. The object recognition system excludes the points from the feature points in case there is difference between distance of partial points and the distance average(S240).
