PURPOSE: A device for providing an augmented reality using image information and a method thereof are provided to display information for a route guide or information related to a road on an image of a real space. CONSTITUTION: A 3D space generating unit(130) generates a virtual 3D space based on an image photographed by a camera(110). A plane determining unit(150) determines a 2D plane based on lane information of the image. A mapping unit(160) maps the 2D plane on the virtual 3D space. An augmented reality providing unit(170) combines an information object with the image based on the mapped 2D plane. |
