PURPOSE: An online electronic certificate operating method using a gift event function is provided to issue virtual money by an electronic certificate which is issued online/offline, thereby distributing the electronic certificate by an event method. CONSTITUTION: A virtual money issuing company terminal(10) transmits data about registered content to an event server(30) of an electronic certificate operating company(20). The event server issues an online electronic certificate to a portable terminal(2) of a user that a promoter designates. An authentication server(50) of the event server authenticates whether to normally use the online electronic certificate. The authentication server transmits data of the authenticated result to a member store terminal.
