The device is intended to propel a fastening apparatus (1) under the action of combustion gas from an explosive charge contained in a cartridge (10) mounted on a cartridge holder (13) received in a gun holder (3) and intended to be entered into a combustion chamber (11) situated at the rear of the cannon (4) slidably fitted in the gun holder (3). Also foreseen is an opening lever (19-25) designed to, after firing, draw the cannon (4) forward in the gun holder (3), bring it away from the cartridge holder (13) and thus open the device.
