CHANNEL ESTIMATION METHOD AND APPARATUS THEREOF IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A channel estimation method and an apparatus thereof are provided to improve channel estimation performance by using the most adjacent pilot tones. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal changes a signal received from a base station into the signal of a frequency domain(400). The mobile terminal confirms whether bursts are allocated to consecutive PRUs(Physical Resource Unit) using the same pre-coding or not(402). The mobile terminal calculates an LS(Least Square) estimation value about each pilot tone(404). The mobile terminal updates the LS estimation value about the most adjacent pilot tones from neighboring PRUs by using estimation speed and estimation interference information(406). The mobile terminal estimates a channel by using the updated LS estimation value, the LS estimation value about non-updated rest of the pilot tones, the estimation speed, and the estimation interference information(408).
