PURPOSE: A postal matter feeding apparatus for detecting the slack of a conveyor belt and the abnormal flow of postal matters is provided to prevent malfunction of an automation system or automation errors by controlling the operation of a conveyor belt. CONSTITUTION: A postal matter feeding apparatus for detecting the slack of a conveyor belt and the abnormal flow of postal matters comprises conveyor belts(371a,372a), photo sensors(841,842), and a controller(200). The conveyor belts are installed to be respectively slung on a pair of engaging rollers. The conveyor belts transfer postal matters while engaging both sides of the postal matters with the pair of engaging rollers. The photo sensors are installed under the conveyor belts to detect the slack of the conveyor belts and the abnormal flow of the postal matters. The controller receives detecting signals of the photo sensors as feedback signals and controls the operation of the conveyor belts.
