FIELD: process engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to grinding of solid amorphous chemical substances to produce particles with mean diameter d50<1.5 mcm. Method of grinding comprises operating jet-type mill with work medium selected from the group consisting of gas and/or steam, preferably, steam and/or gas containing steam. At heating, that is, directly prior to work with operating medium, milling chamber is heated to make mill outlet and/or milling chamber temperature exceeding steam and/or working medium dew point.
