PURPOSE: A sustained release tablet of cylcobenzaprine hydrochloride is provided to ensure excellent sustained release property. CONSTITUTION: A sustained release tablet contains 5-50 parts by weight of cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride, 15-500 parts by weight of ethylcellulose, 5-300 parts by weight of glyceryl behenate, and 5-100 parts by weight of organic acid. The organic acid is fumaric acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, adipic acid, or sorbic acid. The table additionally contains lubricant such as stearic acid metal salt, talc, or colloidal silicon dioxide. The tablet is manufactured by direct tableting, dry granulation, or wet granulation.
