PURPOSE: An apparatus for separating precipitates from ballast water is provided to continuously supply ballast water from which precipitates are separated by using a first precipitating tank and a second precipitating tank. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for separating precipitates includes first and second precipitating tanks(100, 200, 300), an injecting part, discharging parts(620, 630, 642, 644, 648, 649), and a controlling part. The precipitating tanks contain ballast water. The injecting part injects the ballast water into the precipitating tanks. The injecting part includes a supplying pump(520) and supply adjusting valves(542, 544, 546, 548, 549). The supply adjusting valve adjusts the amount of the ballast water into each precipitating tank. The discharging parts discharge the ballast water from the precipitating tanks. The controlling part controls the operations of the injecting part and the discharging parts in order to fill the second precipitating tank before whole ballast water in the first precipitating tank is discharged.
