PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to prevent a change of a line tilt angle of a liquid crystal molecule. CONSTITUTION: A first substrate faces a second substrate. An alignment film is formed on the first substrate and the second substrate. The alignment film comprises a polymer. The polymer is obtained by copolymerizing a dianhydride monomer or a diamine monomer. A liquid crystal layer(3) is placed between the first substrate and the second substrate.
