PURPOSE: A Photorhabdus temperata J5 and a method for eliminating pest using the same are provided to ensure excellent antibacterial effect and to be applied in an agent. CONSTITUTION: A Photorhabdus temperate J5(deposit number KACC91624P) with pesticidal and antibacterial effect is isolated from entomopathogenic nematode. The novel strain has a pesticidal property against Lepidoptera including Galleria mellonella, Plutella xylostella, Spodoptera litura, Alcis angulifera, Adoxophyes orana, Ptycholoma lecheana, Cydia Kurokoi, Grapholita molesta, Lyonetia prunifoliella, Carposina sasakii, Spodoptera exigua, Diaphania indica, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis, Chilo suppressalis, or Helicoverpa armigera.
