PURPOSE: An integrated ultrasonic transmitter using cascode trimming is provided to obtain good elimination of specific components by controlling the rise and fall times of positive and negative pulses to be similar. CONSTITUTION: A transmitter(10) is connected to a transducer element(11) and generates bipolar or unipolar square waves. The transmitter comprises transistors which have non-instantaneous rise and fall times. The transducer element converts electric waves into acoustic energy. The transmitter is provided for each channel and a corresponding element for enabling stepwise array scanning.
