PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for supporting a communication service of a device in a communication system are provided to efficiently support data transmission without adding unnecessary overhead by performing a mobility management protocol. CONSTITUTION: An M2M(Machine to Machine) terminal transmits an REG(REGistration) request message to an authentication server through an ASN-GW(Access Service Network GateWay)(317-321). The authentication server transmits a terminal registration response message to a system control station(323). The system control station transmits MS(Mobile Station) mobility classifier information to a M2M base station while transmitting the terminal registration response message(325). The M2M base station transmits an REG response message to the M2M terminal(327).
