PURPOSE: An image photographing method of a portable terminal is provided to improve user convenience by enabling a user to set locations of a subject beforehand. CONSTITUTION: A user sets a location for capturing images in a preview screen of a photographing mode(S202). When a predetermined subject is located in the set photographing location, a control unit notifies information which the predetermined subject located in the set photographing location to a user(S203,S204). When predetermined conditions are satisfied, the control unit controls the photographing mode of the image(S206,S207).
