PURPOSE: A gel polymer electrolyte is provided be manufactured even in low monomer concentration without separate hardening devices, to have improved ion conductivity, and to able to improve charging/discharging performance of a lithium battery. CONSTITUTION: A gel polymer electrolyte comprises an organic solvent, and a lithium salt capable of generating one or more of protonic acid and Lewis acid by reacting with residual moisture in the organic solvent. The lithium salt is one or more selected from a group consisting of LiBF4, LiPF6, LiAsF6, LiSbF6, and LiPF3(CF2CF3)3. The lithium battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, and the gel polymer electrolyte.
