PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device manufacturing method is provided to prevent several problems due to a rubbing process, a polyimide alignment film, and a magnetic field alignment method. CONSTITUTION: A polymer brush(4) is formed on two substrates. At least one substrate has an uneven structure. A liquid crystal(5) is inserted between the two substrates. A liquid crystal cell is formed. The liquid crystal cell is heated up to a fixed temperature and the temperature is maintained. The temperature is higher than a glass transition temperature of a portion in which the polymer brush and the liquid crystal are used and lower than an NI point of the liquid crystal. The liquid crystal cell is cooled at a temperature lower than the glass transition temperature.
