SECURITY MODULE CERTIFICATES MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN DOWNLOADABLE CONDITIONAL ACCESS SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A security module certificate management system in a conditional access system is provided to syntagmatically manage the installation, update, and issuing of the security module certificate using the identification information of a broadcast terminal and a head-end server. CONSTITUTION: A broadcast terminal(300) is classified using unique terminal identification information. A head-end server(210,220) identifies the broadcast terminal using the terminal identification information. The head-end server transmits SP(Service Provider) identification information to the broadcast terminal. An integrated authentication server(100) authenticates the broadcast terminal by matching the service provider identification information with the terminal identification information. The integrated authentication server issues a security module certificate(321) which authenticates the head-end server to the broadcast terminal.
