<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an effect of surging control, and to expand an operation range of a centrifugal compressor by more effective casing treatment. <P>SOLUTION: A centrifugal compressor 1 includes: an impeller 3 and a casing 2 which houses the impeller and has an intake port 6, a ring-like channel 5 formed around the impeller, and a discharge port 9 communicating with the ring-like channel, keeps a cylindrical space 11 formed around the intake port, keeps the downstream end of the cylindrical space communicating with an impeller housing through a downstream groove 13 and the upstream end of the cylindrical space communicating with the intake port. The downstream groove draws a curve having a 1-cycle periphery and a predetermined amplitude in the axial direction of the intake port where the most upstream point of the downstream groove is located at the upstream end of an impeller blade. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
