<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improved telerobotic systems and methods for remotely controlling surgical instruments at a surgical site on a patient. <P>SOLUTION: A sterile drape for covering a non-sterile portion of the surgical robotic system includes an exterior surface adjacent to a sterile place for performing surgical operation procedures, an interior surface for forming a cavity for receiving the non-sterile portion of the robotic surgical system, and a sterile adaptor for providing an interface between a non-sterile manipulator arm of the robotic surgical system and a surgical instrument in the sterile field. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
