<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: in a contact hole that applies electrical potential to a pixel electrode for controlling the electrical potential of a liquid crystal layer, orientation is disturbed due to a level difference; therefore, the contact hole is usually hidden with a black matrix or the like; even in this case, orientation of the liquid crystal layer is disturbed due to a combination of an orientation disturbance of the contact hole and a lateral electric field; and suppression of the disturbance as described above by adding processes causes, in turn, other problems such as an increase in cost due to an increase in process and reduction in yield. <P>SOLUTION: A projection 125 is disposed on a pixel electrode 121, and at least a part of a contact hole 18 is accommodated therein. Since an orientation disturbance transmitted from the contact hole 18 is buffered by the projection 125, the orientation disturbance is hardly transmitted and, accordingly, orientation is hardly disturbed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
