<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use lupin conglutin for the treatment of type II diabetes. <P>SOLUTION: Lupin conglutin gamma or proteins showing homology higher than 50% with lupin conglutin gamma are used for the preparation of medicaments, nutritional supplementary food or foods for the treatment of type II diabetes. Pharmaceutical and nutritional supplement compositions containing lupin conglutin gamma, pharmaceutical compositions or nutritional supplementary foods containing lupin conglutin gamma, and the use of lupin conglutin gamma as therapeutical agents, in particular as hypoglycemic agents, are also disclosed.
