<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tail seal of a shield machine, which maintains water cut-off performance with improved durability. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a tail seal 11 of a shield machine 1 which is provided at a cylindrical tail plate 4 constituting the shield machine and seals a gap between a segment lining body 6 arranged inside the tail plate 4 and the tail plate 4. The tail seal 11 comprises a seal body 17 for sealing the gap, a seal member 12 formed of a base member 18 to which the seal body 17 is attached, and an attachment member 16 for attaching the seal member 12 to the tail plate 4.
