摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite oxide having both an ultraviolet ray activity and visible light responsiveness. <P>SOLUTION: A composite oxide carries iron oxide on the surface of titanium oxide. In the composite oxide, the bond energy belonging to Fe2p3/2 by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy is smaller than 710.0 eV, and/or the bond energy belonging to Fe2p1/2 is smaller than 723.5 eV. Preferably, in an X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) of iron by X-ray absorption analysis, the height of a peak (Fe-K pre-edge) that appears at the low energy side of K-absorption edge based on 1s&rarr;3d electron transition is smaller than 0.047 when the peak top of XANES is set to be 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
