<p>[Problem] To provide a display device and a display method, whereby at the time of displaying images in a space using residual image phenomenon, the images can be suitably displayed irrespective of speed of a swinging operation. [Solution] This display device is provided with: a plurality of LEDs (2, 2, and so on) that are disposed in a housing (10); a storage unit (13), which stores display patterns of images; and a control unit (14), which controls to turn on/off the LEDs (2, 2, and so on) on the basis of the display patterns. The control unit (14) controls to turn on/off the LEDs (2, 2, and so on) corresponding to a swing speed, at which the display device (1) is swung. The swing speed can be determined on the basis of one cycle time, in which the display device (1) returns from a swing start position to the swing start position. The control unit (14) measures the one cycle time, and on the basis of the measured one cycle time, the control unit calculates times when the LEDs (2, 2, and so on) are to be turned on/off, and turns on/off the LEDs (2, 2, and so on) on the basis of the calculated times.</p> |
