<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve rigidity of a retainer. <P>SOLUTION: A housing 10 has lances 15A, 15B for preventing detachment of a terminal fitting 30 inserted in terminal housing chambers 11A, 11B arranged in parallel to each other separately at upper and lower parts; and a plurality of flexion spaces 16A, 16B allowing the lances 15A, 15b to be elastically flexed in a direction for being dissociated from the terminal fitting 30 in such a form that they are communicated along an aligning direction of the lances 15A, 15B. When flexion restraining parts 41A, 41B of a retainer 40 enter the flexion spaces 16A, 16B, the lances 15A, 15B are restrained from being elastically flexed in the direction for being dissociated from the terminal fitting 30. The retainer 40 has a corner cylinder part 45 constituted with two flexion restraining parts 41A, 41B, and two coupling parts 44 coupling the flexion restraining parts 41A, 41B.
