<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer controller capable of reducing the data transfer amount, the memory usage and the load on an image processor, thereby improving the processing throughput of the entire system. <P>SOLUTION: A data transfer controller 400 comprises: a data storage part 402 for storing image data received by a transfer control part 401; a data operation part 4032 for performing operation for the image data stored in the data storage part 402 according to the data processing content set by a setting part 200; and an internal control part 4033 for either performing control to output the image data operated by the data operation part 4032 to a transfer control part 404 or performing control to feed it back to the data storage part 402.
