<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple-structured gardening production system capable of suppressing damage of a device caused by a transfer mechanism, and capable of making a working passage according to the reduction of the space for the working passage or increase of the cultivation area, or according to the necessity. <P>SOLUTION: The cultivation device 1 includes medium holders B and C and a placing table A on which cultivation containers are placed. The placing table A includes a sliding part 3 movable in the horizontal direction, a base 2 to which the sliding part 3 is attached, and the transfer mechanism 4 disposed between the sliding part and the base. The transfer mechanism 4 includes: rotators 41a and 41b which are two cylinders or filled poles; a pair of holding pipes 422 formed so that the inserted rotators are rotatable inside; and a spacer rod 424 connecting the respective holding pipes to each other in the lateral direction. The sliding part and the base respectively have a stopper member 344 for stopping slide movement and a dropping preventive member 346 for preventing dropping of the sliding part.
