A gas liquid separator (1A) is provided with the following: a hermetically sealed vessel (2) that includes an upper cover (21), a cylindrical unit (22), and a bottom cover (23); and three pipes that extend from the exterior of the hermetically sealed vessel (2) to the interior thereof, namely a first pipe (3A), a second pipe (3B), and a gas outlet pipe (4). A guide member (5) is disposed in the interior of the hermetically sealed vessel (2) and forms an inflow space (11) between the guide member (5) and the upper cover (21) and forms a flow channel (15) between the guide member (5) and the inner surface of the cylindrical unit (22) to allow the passage of the dual layer flow (F). The first pipe (3A) and the second pipe (3B) are configured so that when either one allows the inflow of the gas and liquid dual phase fluid from the exterior of the hermetically sealed vessel (2) into the inflow space (11), the other allows the liquid in the liquid pool (13) to flow to the exterior of the hermetically sealed vessel (2) from the liquid exit holes (31 or 32) while forming a liquid surface above internal liquid exit holes (31 or 32).
