SUNSCREEN COSMETIC

Provided is a sunscreen cosmetic, which is capable of effective protection from not only UVB but also UVA, feels fresh and cool when used, and yet has excellent stability and can form a highly ultraviolet ray-protective film when applied. An oil-in-water sunscreen cosmetic characterized in comprising (a) an aqueous dispersion of an oil-soluble ultraviolet absorber, (b) one or more of crosslinking polyether-modified silicones or crosslinking alkyl polyether-modified silicones, (c) a low viscosity silicone oil, and (d) water. It is preferable that the aqueous dispersion of the oil-soluble ultraviolet absorber is an aqueous dispersion of composite particles of bisethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine and an organic polymer. Additionally blending methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol is desirable.
