The lock (10) has two lock flaps (12) movable between a closing position and an opening position around a rotational axis (R) relative to a housing (16). The flaps close an outer inlet at a lock chamber of the lock in the closing position, and release the outer inlet in the opening position. An actuating lever (24) is coupled with a drive shaft by a gear e.g. chain gear, for manually moving the flaps from the closing position into the opening position and/or viceversa around the axis. The lever is rotatably mounted at the housing around a bearing axis, which is arranged parallel to the shaft. An independent claim is also included for a waste container.
