The apparatus (1) has a clamping piston (2) displaceably inserted into a housing (5). A throttle unit (10) is arranged between an outflow opening (9) and a fluid chamber (6), where the throttle unit has variable restriction. The throttle unit includes a position-variable throttle element (11), which is in operative connection with the clamping piston such that fluid stream flowing through the outflow opening is adjustable by the throttle element. The throttle element is controllable by a clamping element (3) to change the position of the throttle element.
