The device has a camera (2) detecting position of eye (3) of a user with respect to a transparent pane (1). Another camera (5) detects light sources (6) e.g. traffic light and glare source (7), and position of the light sources with respect to the pane. A control device (4) classifies the detected sources. The control device darkens glare regions (8, 9) of the pane while moving between the eye and light source positions based on the detected eye and light source positions, by changing translucency of the pane or based on the classification of the sources.
