<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device that is improved in user support to an error, and to provide a method of controlling the printing device. <P>SOLUTION: The printing device 11 comprises: an error detection part 132 which detects the error; a continuous error counter 141 which counts the number of the continuously-generated errors detected by the error detection part 132; an unvolatile memory 143 in which error message data 144 stored with a message related to the error are accommodated; an error message selection part 133 which selects the message corresponding to the count number of the continuous error counter 141 from the error message data 144, and displays the error message at a display part 22; and the display part 22 at which the selected error message is displayed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
