<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a developer storage part from being removed from the body of an image forming unit after the lifetime of the image forming unit is detected. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming unit Bk is disposed so as to be detached from the body of the image forming device, and includes the body of the image forming unit and a developer storage part disposed so as to be detached from the body of the image forming unit. The image forming device includes lifetime detection processing means for detecting lifetime of the image forming unit Bk, and prevents the developer storage part from being removed from the body of the image forming unit when the lifetime of the image forming unit Bk is detected.
