<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal shutter capable of determining a state of a liquid crystal shutter without newly adding a component, and to provide a driving method of the liquid crystal shutter, and an image display system including the liquid crystal shutter. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal shutter includes: a first liquid crystal panel and a second liquid crystal panel of OCB mode; a power supply section capable of outputting an initial voltage Va and a pulsing normal voltage Vd for alternatingly switching between a transmission state and a non-transmission state; a receiver capable of receiving a synchronizing signal; and a driving section. After performing an initial transition by using the initial voltage Va, the driving section performs the normal driving for applying the normal voltage Vd to the first liquid crystal panel and the second liquid crystal panel respectively associated with the synchronizing signal. When the reception of the synchronizing signal by the receiver is stopped, the driving section performs a retention driving for applying the initial voltage Va to the first liquid crystal panel and the second liquid crystal panel respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
