A rechargeable battery (1a.. 1d) is specified, which comprises at least one bending support (2a, 2b) having a plurality of attachments/contact points (A, B) which are at a distance from one another, for attachment or mounting of the rechargeable battery (1a.. 1d). A plurality of voltage-producing cells (3) are attached to the longitudinal face of the bending support (2a, 2b) and come to rest at least partially between the attachment/contact points (A, B). In addition, the bending support (2a, 2b) has a tubular area (D), which is designed for guidance of a gaseous or liquid heat carrier for controlling the temperature of the rechargeable battery (1a.. 1d). Finally, recesses (E) are arranged in the area of the cells (3), in that section (C) of the bending support (2a, 2b) which is in the form of a plate.
