<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure pump capable of improving self close limitation of an intake valve with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A pump body 11 has a pressurizing chamber 121 in which fuel is pressurized by the reciprocating movement of a plunger and a supply passage 100 guiding fuel to the pressurizing chamber 121. The outer diameter of a stopper 50 arranged in the pressurizing chamber 121 side of the intake valve 40 for opening and closing the supply passage 100 is formed larger than the outer diameter of the intake valve 40. A needle 60 constituted separately from the intake valve 40 can abut on the end face of the valve seat 34 side of the intake valve 40. The intake valve 40 has a guide 41 regulating the movement in the radial direction of the intake valve 40 in the end face of the stopper 50. Thereby, because the intake valve 40 is covered with a stopper 50 viewing from the pressurizing chamber 121 side, the dynamic pressure of fuel discharged from the pressurizing chamber 121 to the feed passage 100 is suppressed from acting on the intake valve 40 during a step of quantity adjustment of the high pressure pump. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
