<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for controlling a rolling mill, for preventing beforehand vibration of 10-odd to 20-odd Hz which is generated during the operation of rolling. <P>SOLUTION: The rotational frequency of a rolling roll is successively calculated on the basis of rolling speed which is varied momentarily during rolling, when the rotational frequency of the rolling rolls enters a predetermined prescribed band centered at the natural vibration frequency of a roll shaft, the target value of the rotational frequency of the rolling roll for deviating the rotational frequency of the rolling roll from the above prescribed band is calculated, next, the target value of the rolling speed is calculated on the basis of the obtained target value of the rolling speed, and then the rotational speed of a mill motor is controlled on the basis of the target value of the obtained rolling speed, consequently the vibration of the rolling mill which is generated by the resonance of the vibration of the rolling roll generated by the rotation of the rolling roll with the vibration generated by the torsion of the roll shaft is prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
