<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tissue treatment system that is manufactured with ease and at low cost, and in particular a system and method for collecting exudates. <P>SOLUTION: The system includes: a distribution manifold positioned at a tissue site; a collection canister 142 having a collection chamber 166, an inlet 152 and an outlet 156. The inlet 152 is fluidly connected to the distribution manifold 122. A reduced pressure source 134 is fluidly connected to the outlet 156 of the collection canister such that fluid from the tissue site is drawn into the collection chamber 166. A liquid-air separator is disposed adjacent the outlet 156 to prevent liquid from exiting the collection chamber 166 through the outlet. A baffle 210 is positioned within the collection canister 142 to create a tortuous path between the inlet 152 and the outlet 156 to prevent premature blocking of the liquid-air separator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
