<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure pump capable stabilizing pressure behavior of discharge fuel. <P>SOLUTION: A pump body 11 has a mounting hole 92 intersecting with a communication channel 91 communicating to a pressurizing chamber 121. A bottomed cylindrical shaped seat holder 40 secured to the mounting hole 92 has an introducing port 44 introducing fuel into the inside from the communication channel 91. A discharge valve 50 shuts out the fuel flow between the communication 91 and a discharge channel 94 by sitting on the valve seat 43 of the seat holder 40 and allows the fuel flow between the communication channel 91 and the discharge channel 94 by leaving from the valve seat 43. A spring 55 biases the discharge valve 50 to the valve seat 43 side. In the discharge valve 50, an opposite side of the introducing port 44 in a radial direction inclines to a stopper 60 side in an axial direction by the dynamic pressure of the fuel flowing in the inside of the seat holder 40 from the pressurizing chamber 121 and start opening with the introducing port 44 side in the radial direction abutting on the valve seat 43.
