The barrier layer (1) comprises a metal (2), which comprises barium oxide and a strontium oxide-free semi-crystalline sealing glass (3), which contains silicon dioxide (40-60 wt.%), boron oxide (4-15 wt.%), aluminum oxide (0-20 wt.%), magnesium oxide (0-5 wt.%), calcium oxide (10-40 wt.%) and less than 1 wt.% of metal oxide (R 2O). The metal oxide is lithium oxide, sodium oxide, potassium oxide, rubidium oxide and/or cesium oxide, where the sealing glass is merged with the metal free of pores. The metals contain chromium and/or chromium-containing alloys.
