<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching element gate drive circuit capable of always minimizing switching time by controlling turn-on and turn-off time in switching operations. <P>SOLUTION: For a component corresponding to a gate resistance of a gate drive circuit, an active element such as bipolar transistor is used to control a gate current through its active region.
