The injection system (1) has a high-pressure pump (2) and an injector (3), which is hydraulically connected to the high pressure pump. The injector has a leakage fit for a pressure-dependent duration leakage of the fuel. The leakage fit is designed such that the duration leakage of the fuel serves the boundary of the pressure in the injection system. An independent claim is also included for a method for limiting the pressure in a fuel injection system for a fuel.
