<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel material that comprises an organic compound having a small environmental load and is useful as a positive electrode active material for a nonaqueous secondary battery with high energy density and excellent cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material for a nonaqueous secondary battery contains a 1,4,5,8-anthracenetetrone compound represented by general formula (1) as an active ingredient. General formula (1): (In the formula, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">5</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">6</SP>are the same or different and each represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a halogen atom, or one of a combination of R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>and a combination of R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>or the both combinations may be combined with each other to form an aromatic ring together with carbon atoms which are combined with R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>.) <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
