Class 52(2) A vehicle, preferably an aircraft, seat 10 is hinged at 141, 151 to outboard and inboard legs 14, 15 respectively, the former being pivoted to the floor and locked by a bolt 18 and the latter being detachably connected to the floor and connected to bolt 17 by a link 19 so that , as leg 15 is folded, it unlocks leg 14. The detachable connection is constructed as described in Specification 794,519 and foldable back-rests 11 and armrests 13 are provided constructed as described in Specifications 799,702 and 793,883 respectively. To fold the seat, back-rest 11 is swung down on to the seat, arm-rests 13 are swung out slightly and leg 15 is detached from the floor and folded either inwards or outwards thus withdrawing bolt 18. Leg 14 is then turned inwardly and downwardly about its floor pivot and the folded seat is swung up against the aircraft wall to the position shown in Fig. 4. The plate 17 with which bolt 18 engages may be adjustable to vary the angle between the seat and leg 14 to suit different spacings of floor attachment fittings in different aircraft. According to the Provisional Specification, bolts may be provided at the front and rear of the seat. |
