<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap for writing instruments and a writing instrument which secure a sufficient attachment strength of a crown and can secure an air circulation passage to flow the air. <P>SOLUTION: In the writing instrument 1, the outer peripheral surface of a crown outer cylindrical part 21 is fitted in the inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical body 11, and the inner peripheral surface of a crown inner cylindrical part 22 is fitted in the outer peripheral surface of an attachment body 12. Even if a stress acts to the crown 5 in a direction in which the axial center of the crown 5 inclines, for example, in the axial center of the cylinder 11, the stress is pressed, for example, to the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical body 11 and the outer peripheral surface of the attachment body 12, respectively, with an outer end of the cylindrical body 11 as a fulcrum. For instance, as compared with the case where the crown is fitted in the attachment body 12 only by the inner peripheral surface of the crown inner cylindrical part 22, the sufficient attachment strength is secured. Moreover, an annular space 27 is formed in the crown 5 between the inner peripheral surface of the crown outer cylindrical part 21 and the outer peripheral surface of the crown inner cylindrical part 22. For example, even if the cap 2 clogs inside the bronchial tube of an infant due to swallowing by the infant's mistake, the air circulates in the annular space 27.
