ELECTRODELESS DISCHARGE LAMP, AND LIGHTING DEVICE USING ELECTRODELESS DISCHARGE LAMP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp which can prevent the scattering of bulb pieces when a bulb is broken while suppressing light transmission loss, and also to provide a lighting device using the electrodeless discharge lamp.

SOLUTION: An electrodeless discharge lamp 1 comprises a lamp part 2 and a coupler part 3. The lamp part 2 includes: a bulb 20 having an electric bulb-like outer shape; and a cylindrical cap 21 attached to a neck part of the bulb 20. The coupler part 3 is coupled to the cap 21 provided on the lamp part 2. The bulb 20 includes: an electric bulb-like outer tube 22 having the neck part continuous with a spherical head part; and a bottomed cylindrical inner tube 23 which extends from an opening formed on the neck part of the outer tube 22 to the inside of the outer tube 22. A scattering prevention film 222 is provided on an outer surface of the outer tube 22 so as to prevent the outer tube 22 from being broken when the inner tube 23 collides against the outer tube 22. A material having sufficient film strength and adhesion strength onto glass as well as heat resistance is used for the scattering prevention film 222.
